Latest News & ReviewsTribute to Jermaine Harvey (January 23, 2010)On hearing of the sad news of Jermaine Harvey, we thought you might like to know that Jermaine was our 2001 Starry Eyes Talent Show Senior Winner. Starry Eyes thought the best way to commemorate this great persons short life who's 27th Birthday would have been today, 23rd January, would be to make a Tribute DVD celebrating his winning moment on stage. Jermaine was loved by so many people. Jermaine sang the 'Billy Jean' by Michael Jackson which was a hit for the King of Pop who also sadley died last year. Jermaine wowed the crowds that night not just with his singing but with his moon walking too, gliding across the stage as if on air. Jermaine was a lovely a person as many people has vouched with a big heart of gold. He did not expect to win that night as he was coaxed into it by his friend Cashelle who was also taking part in the competition and wanted him there for support. Jermaine was such a happy fellow, you could always hear him singing inside and out at rehearsals and he also like to write and recite poetry. The night of the final he was back stage at the Civic Hall calming everyone down and massaging their shoulders to help take their nerves away. He did not think for one minute that he would go out there and win it. When the announcement came he was speechless. Starry Eyes would like to pay a tribute to Jermaine and to say how honoured we were to have known Jermaine and have had him part of our show. We have had a DVD made of his moment to celebrate the life and to remember what a fun, lovely guy he was. His memory will live on forever. The DVD is such a lovely way to pay tribute to Jermaine that after reading your article in last weeks paper we have decided that it would be a good idea to make the DVD available to anyone who would like to purchase a copy for the proceeds to go to the Jermaine Harvey Bursary. This week would have been Jermaine's Birthday on 23rd of January so it this would be a lovely way to celebrate his life and to remember his Birthday. DVD's can be ordered through Christine Scrivens on 01225 765072 or email. c.scrivens@hotmail.co.uk or The Wiltshire Times for £7.50 all donations greatly received. All Proceeds for the Jermaine Harvey Bursary. |
