Aladdin's Magic (March 03, 2009)
Starry Eyes cast worked their magic last Saturday Feb. 28th at the Bradford-on Avon Sports and social club when they staged their Panto version of Aladdin.
Aladdin -Twankey & Wishee

The evening seemed to be enjoyed by all even though a couple of the cast had, first night fright, and forgot some of their lines.  But on the whole the group did a tremendous job of putting on a play in an environment that was not really suited for such purposes.

Their back stage consisted of a curtained off area at he side of the hall, where approx.  20 cast including some very young children had to stay quiet through-out the whole performance, which lasted for more than 2hrs.with an interval.

The social club is carpeted with polystyrene ceiling tiles, so voices do not not carry well, add  a 100 people or so which will also soak up the sound and the small voices are unfortunately lost.

But on the whole the production was good with some very outstanding performances from certain cast members as well as some great song and dance routines.  The scenery, props and costumes were brilliant, proving that lots of time, thought and effort had been made to stage this rendition of Aladdin and against all the odds of the bad luck curse that followed through with it, it went exceptionally well.

The delighted audience showed their appreciation with lots of cheering and clapping when the relieved Starry Eyes cast took to the stage to take their final bow.

Starry Eyes always give productions their best and this was no exception.
