(October 04, 2008)A few young ladies had a very successful evening at the Studley Green Community Centre in Trowbridge this evening. 11 years old Kimberley who is a member of the Studley Green TARA, decided that she wanted to put on a talent show for 7 – 16 year olds. Kimberley set about sorting out the venue and making preparations and finding sponsors and finding all the prizes. Well all the talented people who took part certainly did Kimberley proud and gave her a magic night to remember. The audience and judges were treated to a host of talents singers and dancers of a very high calibre. The Judges were, The Mayor of Trowbridge Cllr. John Knight, a lady from the performing arts college and the Arc Theatre, and two members of the TARA. The judges said that they had a very difficult job picking a winner as everyone was so good and that there was just half a point in it. But at the end of the day Mary Barnes 13 of Melksham, melted their hearts with her rendition of ‘Who Painted the Moon Black’ Mary is capable of melting the hearts of a thousand souls when she sings this song and she was most certainly flying amongst the stars tonight when her pure angelic vocals won her 1st place. Well done Mary! First prize was a Nintendo Wii and the results were: 1st place – Mary Barnes 2nd place – Lauren Medway 3rd place – Chassidy Brown Well done to Kimberley and to everyone who took part you were all absolutely brilliant, what a wonderful show you all put on! |
