The Bradford-On-Avon Sports & Social Club held a fund raising night for The Starry Eyes Performance Foundation last Friday and Starry Eyes performers put on a showcase to be proud of.
“The talent is unbelievable within this group”, said Alfie who arranged the evening at Bradford, “They deserve so much better, they are brilliant” said Alfie as he handed the group £65 which the evening raised. “I only wish it were more, but the club is struggling to survive itself, but we will have you back and do this again and make a bigger event of it”
Sally Boyle, said that Starry Eyes were very grateful for the support and said after a long spell without workshops, it was just so brilliant to all be together, and we to shouldn’t let the stars fizzle out, and we must find our selves a new base to run workshops and practices from again as soon as possible and keep this going. Our Talent is second to none as 11 year old Lauren proved when she won the Regional Final of Live & Unsigned at Bristol on Sunday, with her own composition.
Other members of the group have been busy composing their own material too. Jonene Taylor from Melksham has just composed her own song for her exams at school, and has gained top marks for her composition.
Two of our most valued members Are off to University to pursue their performing careers, they are our Longest Starry Eyes Member Amy Griggs who has gained a name for herself in Trowbridge and beyond, represent us Regionally and Nationally in Bristol’s Search for a Star and in the Festival 4 Stars competition in Bournemouth & Scotland, where Amy and Rhiannon Lambert both represented us, and Nicola Chatfield who has gained top awards Regionally and Nationally for her multi talents, of Singing, dancing and acting. We will miss them tremendously.
Danny Kilmurry from Melksham joined us for the first time on Friday and performed like a true pro. Along with the rest of the line up who were, Lauren Medway who performed her own song for the first time in public, her brother, Joe Medway, Nicola Chatfield, Amy Griggs, Mary Barnes and her Mum Sue, Jonene Taylor, her little sister Vicky, and their Mum Dawn Taylor, Ian Jones, Chris Tong, Hot flush, Danny Kilmurray.
